Manufacturing Skills Queensland (MSQ) is calling on employers to register as industry partners for the Advanced Manufacturing Gateway to Industry Schools project. This innovative program aims to inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals and bridge the gap between education and industry.
MSQ’s Industry Engagement Manager for Schools, Georgi Tomlinson, says the Gateway to Industry Schools program offers businesses a unique opportunity to connect directly with schools.
“The Advanced Manufacturing the Gateway to Industry Schools project is a highly flexible program that empowers employers to create and implement customised school engagement activities that resonate with both industry needs and student aspirations. As an industry partner, you’re not just observing the future of the manufacturing industry’s workforce—you’re actively shaping it.”
“You have the unique chance to showcase the essential skills that drive our industry and highlight the workforce needs within your community. Whether you’re hosting site visits, delivering classroom presentations, or contributing to curriculum development, every interaction leaves a lasting impact.”
“We are starting to onboard some exciting manufacturers across a range of industries including health, construction, truck and transport, and more. This growing diversity showcases the breadth of opportunities available in manufacturing and helps students understand the wide-ranging career paths they can pursue in this dynamic industry,” says Georgi.
Through the gateway program, MSQ facilitates connections between employers and schools through a range of opportunities. Employers can get involved in various ways, including:
“Becoming an industry partner is free and offers significant benefits. If you’re passionate about your business and want to see both your company and the industry flourish, we’re here to help you achieve that goal,” Georgi adds.
Employers interested in becoming industry partners or learning more about the program are encouraged to contact MSQ. By collaborating with schools, businesses can ensure the continued growth and innovation of the manufacturing industry in Queensland.
