Nominations are now open for the 2025 Women in Manufacturing Leading Apprentice Award and Highly Commended Apprentice Award. Manufacturing Skills Queensland is proud to sponsor the Highly Commended Apprentice Award again in 2025.
These awards celebrate Queensland’s top female apprentices who show exceptional leadership in the manufacturing industry.
The awards are a crucial component of the broader Queensland Government Women in Manufacturing Strategy, which is designed to encourage more women to consider and pursue careers in manufacturing. By providing leadership programs and other initiatives, the strategy aims to inspire women to break into the industry and rise to leadership positions.
Manufacturing Skills Queensland CEO, Rebecca Andrews said the awards were an important platform to recognise women who have pursued a career in manufacturing.
“Manufacturing Skill Queensland is excited to support the Women in Manufacturing Apprentice Awards for a second year. Last year I was impressed with the calibre of the young women who applied for the award.
“These awards celebrate Queensland’s leading female apprentices who demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork capabilities—they’re crucial for inspiring future generations of women in the industry.
“I am looking forward to learning about the amazing women who are leading the way in their workplaces through the 2025 awards, and strongly encourage employers to nominate their female apprentices.”
The winner of the Leading Apprentice Award will take home $10,000, while the runner-up will receive $5,000. This prize money is intended to support the recipients in their professional journeys, covering essential expenses such as tools, uniforms, educational opportunities, or career development courses.
The awards will be presented at the International Women’s Day Women in Manufacturing Breakfast on 7 March 2025. Secure your tickets here.
